SoloStack Daily is an independent publication for freelancers and one-person businesses. Here is exactly how we evaluate the tools we cover — including where our knowledge comes from.

1. We research thoroughly

For every tool we dig into the current pricing pages, feature documentation, and real user feedback across reviews and communities — then verify the pricing and key features directly against the vendor at the time of writing.

2. We compare on the same criteria every time

Pricing transparency (including payment-processing fees, not just the headline subscription), free-tier limits, ease of setup, day-to-day features, support, and how hard it is to leave (export and lock-in).

3. The verdict comes first

Every article opens with a direct recommendation, so you get the answer before the explanation.

Research vs. hands-on — we tell you which

Where we have direct hands-on experience with a tool, we say so explicitly and share specific findings. Where a recommendation is based on research rather than first-hand use, we don't pretend otherwise. We would rather be useful and honest than overstate what we've tested.
